Creating content pages (or articles as they are called) on a website using the Joomla content management system (CMS) is actually very simple once you understand how.
Of course, it can also be very complicated if you are just a beginning Joomla webmaster. But never to worry as I am going to show you how to do so in a few mouse clicks.
Here's a simple step by step process for creating a content item, article or page on Joomla. (Note: All these three actually mean the same thing: a page on your site)
- Login to the Joomla backend (the Admin area of the site in the /administrator directory)
- Click on the "Content" tab
- Point to and click on "Article Manager"
- In the new Joomla environment (where you have a list of all the articles on your Joomla site), look for a green "NEW" button in the top right corner of your browser window and click on it.
- In the new environment, fill in your article's title and select the section and category where you want it to appear under. (Note: You can find comprehensive coverage of what Joomla sections and categories are and how they are used in some of my other articles.)
- Type up the body of the article and use the available tools for formatting it.
- On the right side of the browser window, fill in all the needed information for your new article like the article meta description, keywords and parameters.
- Now click on the "Save" button on the top right corner of the window
Voila! You have just created an article (or webpage, if you would rather call it that) using the Joomla content management system.
